Vitamins, probably not something you have thought about checking the label on to make sure they are suitable for vegans. Here are a few hidden things in vitamins making some not suitable:
- Bonemeal; animal bones
- Cysteine; animal derived.
- Fish oil
- Gelatine; animal bones
- Lactose; sugar from mammals milk
- Glucosamine; made from shellfish
- Plus loads more
Thankfully there are now quite a few companies selling vitmains suitable for vegans such as Real Nutrition – they currently offer 3 different vitmains. Organic tumeric, Maca root as well as iron and vitamin C.
I take a whole host of vitamins daily, namely;
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin B12
- Iron and vitamin C
- Tumeric extract
- Glucosamine sulphate
I use these to help manage and reduce some of my symptoms of Fibromyalgia such as brain fog, tiredness, aching muscles and joints as well as ensuring as a vegan I am hitting those B12 targets.
For the past few weeks I have been using Real Nutritions vitamins in place of the others I had been taking to compare them.
I cannot fault them, they are easy to take and haven’t caused any stomach issues (sometimes vitamins can make me feel a little bit sick). They have high levels of each vitamin/supplements meaning you don’t have to worry about not getting enough etc – a lot of cheaper supplements contain a very low quantity of the vitamin.
Real Nutrition’s range are pretty much free of all nasties such as gluten, lactose, colourings, sugars/sweetners, salt, preservatives, alcohol and additives.
Their range starts from £12.99 for a minimum 2 month supply.
For the eco conscious out there, their products are made using 100% renewable energy and their packaging is 100% recyclable.
